Frequently Asked Questions
Below are answers to some of the questions we are most commonly asked. If your question isn’t addressed here, you are welcome to contact us or book a free 15-minute consultation to see whether working together may be a good fit.
This is very common. Many people start therapy with a general sense that something isn’t quite right but aren’t sure how to describe it yet. Part of the process is working together to understand what you’re experiencing and making sense of it over time. You don’t need to arrive with clear answers. A willingness to explore is enough to begin.
This varies depending on what you would like to work on. Some people attend for a shorter period to address a specific concern, while others choose to continue longer to explore deeper patterns. The process is flexible and can be adjusted over time based on your goals and preferences.
Initial meetings and the primary meeting platform is online, as this supports greater flexibility and continuity of care over time. In-person sessions can be arranged once a working relationship is established. These can include nature or outdoor-based meetings.
Our services have been covered for clients under most major extended health benefit providers. Our therapists are registered, and clients are provided with a receipt that includes the information typically required for reimbursement. Coverage ultimately depends on the details of your individual plan.
Yes. We offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation where you can briefly share what has been going on and ask any questions you may have about the process. This meeting allows you to get a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit before booking a full session. There is no obligation to continue after the consultation.
This is very common. Many people come with a general sense that something is bothering them but find it difficult to clearly describe. Part of the process is taking the time to explore and understand what you’re experiencing together. Not having the language for it yet is often part of why people reach out in the first place.
The first meeting is mainly about understanding what has been going on for you and getting a sense of the bigger picture of your experiences. The intention is for you to feel heard while we begin to understand what your goals for therapy may be. It’s similar to taking the time to understand the terrain before deciding which direction to move.
Yes. Our clinicians work with youth and young adults, and some members of our team have a particular focus in this area.
Often a good starting point is gaining a clearer understanding of what you’re experiencing. Even when a situation isn’t easily changed, many people find that clarity around the emotion, pattern or dynamic can make a meaningful difference. Creating that understanding can help you step back from the experience and begin working with it rather than feeling fully caught inside it.
This can happen, and it doesn’t necessarily mean therapy isn’t right for you. Sometimes it’s a matter of timing, readiness, or finding a therapist whose approach feels like a better fit. If you’re ready to engage in the work, we’re here to support that process with you.
We do not offer direct billing at this time. Most of our clients are able to submit receipts for reimbursement through their extended health benefit plans. Our therapists are registered with recognized professional associations, and receipts include the information typically required by most major benefit providers for reimbursement, depending on each individual’s plan and coverage.
Yes. Our therapists are registered in the locations where they are based, however this does not prevent clients from other areas from working with us. Clients within Canada are often still able to use their extended health benefits for services.
We already work with clients from a variety of locations around the world and enjoy supporting people across Europe, Central and South America, and the Southern Hemisphere.
