I work with adults navigating stress, relationship tension, emotional shutdown, and the impact of trauma or past experiences that still shape how you respond today. My approach is calm, steady, and focused on helping you understand what’s happening inside so you can make meaningful, lasting change.

Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent over a decade as a paramedic and firefighter - work that shaped how I show up with people in their most vulnerable situations. This work helped me understand how to stay calm in difficult moments, how to listen beneath the surface, and how deeply people want to feel understood.

I have a particular interest in supporting men, couples, and individuals with the things you never really unpacked. Many of the men I work with talk about feeling pressure to stay strong, struggling to express emotion, or shutting down during conflict. Others notice irritability, emotional numbness, or old reactions kicking in during stress. I offer a grounded, straightforward space where you can talk openly, make sense of what’s going on, and feel supported as you take the next steps forward.

In my work with couples, I help partners understand the patterns behind repeated arguments - miscommunication, feeling unheard, trust issues, distance, or cycles that feel impossible to break. I draw from EFT principles to help both partners feel seen and respected while communicating in clearer, more effective ways.

In individual therapy, I help clients make sense of how trauma shows up in the present, whether it’s anger or irritability, shutting down or withdrawing during conflict, escalating quickly or becoming reactive before you’ve had a chance to think, defensiveness, feeling flooded, overthinking after interactions, or going numb to avoid feeling too much.
These reactions often come from earlier experiences or old survival patterns that once helped you cope. Our work focuses on understanding where these responses come from, softening their intensity, and developing more grounded, intentional ways of moving through difficult moments. I integrate Internal Family Systems, EMDR, and nervous-system–focused approaches to support clarity, resilience, and long-term change.

Because of my background, I have a strong interest in working with first responders and veterans. I know what the job demands, how quickly things accumulate, and how often people in these roles put their own wellbeing last. It matters to me to offer a place where that load can finally be talked about.
When I’m not with clients, you’ll find me outdoors 4X4ing, sledding, biking, skiing, or in my workshop building custom off-road vehicles through my fabrication business.

If you’re looking for therapy that is warm, steady, and practical, I’d be glad to work with you.
